Pre defined Cross Sections

Four different pre-defined closed cross section types are supported. These are mainly used within sewer models, and are therefore called pipe cross sections:

  1. Circular pipe

  2. Rectangular pipe

  3. O shaped pipe (H/B = 1.125)

  4. Egg shaped pipe (H/B = 1.5)

The parameters B and H are cross section width and height. See the egg-shaped and O-shaped cross sections for the O-shaped and Egg-shaped cross sections.

The pre-defined cross sections are fully defined by specifying the cross section type and the characteristic dimension(s). While for the circular and rectangular cross sections this is straightforward, some care is needed for the definition of the O-shaped and Egg-shaped cross sections. For these two, a diameter D is specified, which is the width for the O-shaped cross section, and the height for the Egg-shaped cross section.
