MIKE11.INI File Settings

The Mike11.ini file contains settings for MIKE 1D. The file is loaded in the MIKE 11 bridge, and as such the settings in Mike11.ini are only relevant when MIKE 1D is running MIKE 11 setups.

MIKE 11 HD Settings

The section describes settings that are relevant for hydrodynamic calculations.

WL_EXCEEDANCE_FACTOR

WL_EXCEEDANCE_FACTOR defines when the calculation fails if water exceeds the banks of an open cross section. The maximum allowed water in an open cross section is WL_EXCEEDANCE_FACTOR times the height of the cross section. By default, open cross sections are extended upward with vertical walls in the full width of the cross section.

Allowed values: Any positive value.

Default value: 4.0.

MAX_GATE_ITERATIONS

MAX_GATE_ITERATIONS defines the maximum allowed number of iterations during one time step in situations where the flow through structures is calculated by iterations.

Allowed values: Any positive integer.

Default value: 50.

StructureSetWaterLevelsAtTime

StructureSetWaterLevelsAtTime defines which water level to use when calculating flow through structures. One of three possible water levels are available: 0 means water level at the previous time step (time N), 1 means water level at the time between previous and next time step (time N+1/2) and 2 means water level at the next time step (time N+1).

Allowed values: 0, 1, or 2.

Default value: 2.

MaxNumberOfErrorLogFileBackups

During data reading and after the simulation MIKE 1D generates several log files and a simulation summary file. In consecutive simulations, a set of backup log and summary files is stored by assigning serial numbers to the files. The files indexed “01” are the newest, and growing index numbers indicating older files. The maximum number of the backup files stored can be controlled by setting the parameter MaxNumberOfErrorLogFileBackups.

Allowed values: Any positive value.

Default value: 3.

ControlModuleNumberOfIterations

Number of iterations in the control module. Useful if there are control definitions where the input depends on the output from the control module.

Allowed values: Any positive value.

Default value: 1.

ALTERNATIVE_CONV_SUPPR_FOR_FULLY_DYNAMIC

This flag enables an alternative momentum suppression algorithm in the momentum equation (q-grid points) in the Fully Dynamic Wave Approximation. Instead of using the maximum Froude number upstream and downstream to suppress the average momentum term, the contributions from upstream and downstream are suppressed with their respective Froude numbers. Enabling this can in some cases stabilise the simulation.

Allowed values: ON or OFF.

Default value: OFF
