MIKE 1D Documentation

MIKE 1D is the computational engine for modelling unsteady flow in pipe networks, river networks and estuaries. It solves the one-dimensional shallow water equations with an implicit finite difference scheme, covering everything from small urban collectors to tidal estuaries.

Text that applies to only one product is placed in a River (MIKE 11 / MIKE HYDRO) or Urban (MIKE+) tab. Selecting a tab applies that choice across the whole manual.

  • What is MIKE 1D

Background on the engine, what it replaces, and what has changed between releases.

  • Sediment Transport

Non-cohesive sediment transport: transport theory, the available load formulas, morphological updating and boundary conditions.
